Therasage Thera360 Portable Infrared Sauna | Worth it or Not?

REVIEWING THERASAGE’S BEST SELLING PORTABLE INFRARED SAUNA UNIT

I love our infrared sauna at Human Optimization Center. But there are times that, out of convenience, it’s great to have a portable home sauna.

Enter Therasage’s Thera360 portable infrared sauna.

When I first discovered this model, my interest was piqued. And after purchasing one for myself (and another for the Center), I can now speak on my firsthand experience with the sauna.

Is it easy to set up? How good of a sweat can you expect? And are they worth the money?

I’ll say this: it’s been incredibly beneficial for me to use, especially when I can’t make it into the Center. And any client who rents them at HOC usually ends up purchasing one for themselves.

Hey, even supermodel Elle Macpherson uses it—so it must be worth it, right?

I kid. But let’s dive into the details…

CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY

There are other portable infrared saunas on the market—so what’s so different about Therasage?

For one, their TheraFusionTM InfraRed Technology. The company’s proprietary Natural Earth Element Full Spectrum Infrared heating panels, created with Tourmaline gemstones, generate an abundance of negative ions.

Negative ions are thought to increase the flow of oxygen to the brain, meaning more focus, less drowsiness, and increased mental energy. They’re even believed to increase serotonin levels in the brain, although studies are still inconclusive.

BENEFITS

Like other infrared saunas, the Therasage Thera360 works  by means of detoxification.

Benefits from infrared saunas include decreased inflammation, increased circulation, paid relief, increased metabolism, better sleep, enhanced immune system, mitochondria support, and enhanced energy.

Other benefits include an increase in natural nitric oxide and redox molecule production. As far as aesthetics go, users can expect to see an increase in collagen production and cellulite reduction.

These benefits come down to the unit’s full spectrum infrared frequencies. This includes near to far infrared. These infrared frequencies are absorbed by the body, heating it from the inside out—hence the sweat.

When the sweat glands are activated, think of them like the body’s tool to expel toxins. Being the largest organ of the human body, it can get rid of a large amount of waste material.

WORRIED ABOUT EMFS? DON’T BE

Here’s the caveat: many saunas on the market today will cause an EMF (electromagnetic  field) detector to spike through the roof. While inside a typical sauna, you can expect to be exposed to EMF levels as high as 150mG and 2000 – 3000 V/m.

For most people interested in the health benefits of sauna, the idea of these pesky EMFs disrupting their system isn’t too pleasant to think about. After all, what’s the point of detoxifying in a sauna if you’re being exposed to harmful radiation in the process?

Aside from symptoms like headaches, irritability, and insomnia, studies have also linked prolonged exposure to EMFs to leukemia and gliomas, or brain cancer (PubMed, Science Direct).

Therasage has met the concern about EMFs head-on. With their Advanced Earthing Technology (AET), they’re able to further enhance the healing by capturing the charge of the Earth. This helps balance the polarity of the body and improve cellular communication.

This method to shield from EMFs, ELFs, and RFs allow the body to absorb maximum healing benefits from the sauna.

Another major bonus with Therasage’s portable sauna is that they won’t off-gas because they have zero VOC’s (volatile organic chemicals).

For anyone who has purchased a traditional mattress before, you know what I’m talking about—that undesirable chemical smell that lingers days after opening the new package. It’s unpleasant, and can leave you with headaches, congestion, and other side effects.

Luckily with the Thera360, you won’t experience any of that.

THERA360 VS THERA360 PLUS

Touted as “the most advanced portable infrared sauna in the world,” this portable infrared sauna by Therasage includes models Thera360 and Thera360 PLUS. The PLUS offers all of the features and benefits of the base model, with a few additions:

  • Dual “Tri-Lite” Red Light & Near Infrared Frequency Light Panels

  • 118 High Powered

  • Medical Grade

  • Photon Chips – 600nm – 980nm

  • Advanced EMF, ELF, & RF Remediation

The PLUS model also offers complimentary health coaching, biohacking combinations, and consulting available post purchase.

For someone looking for extra support and guidance for their sauna experience, I would recommend upgrading to the Thera360 PLUS. If you don’t need it, the Thera360 still has all the bells and whistles you need to take full advantage of the benefits of the portable infrared sauna.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

When you first see a photo of the unit, you may let out a laugh. Sure, it looks kind of funny—but the real question for me was, does it actually work?

Because here’s the thing: there are other portable saunas on the market. If I’m going to invest in a sauna, I want to make sure it’s offering the most value possible.

As far as setup goes, the process is simple. Therasage has made it super easy, with an extra-long 12’ long power cord to make it convenient to use regardless of where your outlet is in the room.

When fully set up, the dimensions of the sauna come out to be 33″W x 37″L x 46″H. It’s small enough to fit comfortably in most rooms. Depending on the size of your bathroom, you may also be able to set it up there.  That’s where I had mine initially.  It’s easier to get right into a cold shower afterwards.

Once the unit is in place, you’ll sit yourself down on the provided bamboo chair, put the crossbar in place that helps hold the sauna’s shape, and zip it all up. It has 2 zippable armholes, so you can easily use your phone or even work on your laptop (in front of a table) while you sauna.

The bamboo chair it comes with is convenient, but not the most comfortable chair in the world. I would recommend folding a large, plush cotton towel on the front and back of the chair for added comfort and to absorb as you sweat.

Overall, this unit heats up well, and I get a fantastic sweat in it. It takes just several minutes for it to fully heat up. Heating and time is automatically set to 125 degrees for 60 minutes, but is adjustable, with a max of 170 degrees. The remote is just outside of the right armhole, so it’s easy to adjust as needed.

Once you’re finished using the unit, it stores easily in a closet or under the bed. It weighs 26 pounds, so it’s easy to carry around and store as needed. If you’re not going to leave it out for easy access or regular use, it takes just minutes to fold down and store out of sight.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

One question I get asked a lot is—how easy is it to clean? Very.

While the infrared frequencies will kill germs and bacteria, a damp cloth with a mild natural soap or essential oil can be used to wipe down the sauna inside and out. This is another reason I recommend using towels to absorb sweat while you use the Therasage360. It will make clean up a lot easier.

This unit also comes with 2 zip-out collars, meaning all you have to do is rotate the collars while the other one is in the wash. That way, each time you go in for a session, you’ll have a clean collar to use.

THERAO3 OZONE MODULE

If you really want to kick your portable sauna experience up a notch, I’d recommend taking a look at Therasage’s TheraO3 Ozone Module.

I use this module inside the sauna during most of my sessions. It works by increasing the amount of oxygen in the body and blood concentration through the cellular infusion introduction of ozone.

By enhancing the absorption of the ozone through your skin 8-10x, blood oxygenation levels increase. This helps boost the immune system, detoxify the body, and kill harmful pathogens. In essence, it helps sanitize the air around you.

I notice a difference when I use it consistently. And because the ozone module is also portable, it’s easy to take anywhere, including in the car, on planes, hotels, and so on.

COST

Therasage’s Thera360 model comes in at $897.00, while the Thera360 PLUS comes in at $1098.

For a little over $100 more, that means you can get access to some additional features like the dual “tri-lite” red light and near infrared frequency light panels, advanced EMF/ELF/RF remediation, and supplemental health coaching.

Both models also include a Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty for one year.

TIPS

In order to have a comfortable sauna experience, consider putting a towel over the footpad and chair of the device. This will help absorb any sweat and will also offer some additional padding while you have your sauna session.

Like I mentioned, the included bamboo chair isn’t anything you’re going to write home about comfort-wise. So it’s best to be prepared and do a little adjusting to make for a comfortable sauna experience.

Also, make sure to stay hydrated.  Drink an 8oz glass of water within an hour of your time in the sauna, and another once you finish. Consider a drink with electrolytes (like natural coconut water) to keep your system balanced while you sweat.

Therasage makes a unique water purification system that makes hydrating even easier (and healthier). Their system filters out all heavy metals, harmful chemicals like fluoride, lead, and pesticides.

But best of all (and why I’m recommending it), it creates living water by means of natural earth-stone technology. This technology adds minerals and utilizes infrared infusion to restructure and reorder the water, offering  the best cellular hydration and water purification system—making it the perfect pair with this portable sauna.

TAKEAWAY

Overall, would I recommend Therasage’s Thera360 portable sauna? Absolutely.

For anyone looking to take advantage of the health benefits of sauna in the comfort of their own home or on the road, this unit from Therasage offers all the features you need in one neat package.

The portability, ease of setup/take down, EMF protection, and ability to get a great sweat going are some of the key highlights for me. Personally, this unit makes for the perfect addition to my regular sauna routine at the Center.

If price isn’t a determining factor and you would benefit from the extra support of health coaching, biohacking combinations, and consulting, you may want to consider upgrading to the Thera360 PLUS.

Either way, you can expect to take advantage of the unit’s full-spectrum healing wavelengths—for improved blood circulation, natural detoxification, and increased metabolic rate.

Like I mentioned, every client who rents one from us at the Center loves it—and the majority end up buying a unit for themselves.

I think that speaks for itself!
